You Tian conducts internal performance management training.

Performance management is a critically important component of corporate management, with the ultimate goal of boosting profitability. Without a scientifically sound and well-designed performance management system, companies are prone to issues such as poor coordination among departments, low employee motivation, mutual buck-passing among staff, unstable product quality, and difficulty retaining top talent. The ultimate consequences are that the company’s strategic objectives become hard to achieve, production and operational costs become difficult to control, and economic efficiency becomes challenging to improve. Currently, You Tian is in a preparatory phase for leapfrog development, making it especially crucial to promptly establish a performance management system that is both tailored to the company’s actual situation and highly practical and actionable.

From February 25 to 28, 2022, a delegation of six members—including the company’s General Manager and Deputy General Manager, as well as representatives from the Finance Department, Human Resources Department, and Quality Department—attended the “Performance System Implementation Workshop 10.0,” led by Yang Zhentian, Chief Mentor for Performance Implementation at PinYu Consulting Group. After four days of intensive training, the company’s mid- and senior-level leaders gained a brand-new understanding of performance management and initially mastered the correct approaches, methods, steps, and tools for implementing performance management effectively.

Building on this foundation, and in order to enhance all employees' understanding of performance management and move beyond misconceptions such as "conducting performance reviews is just a way to find excuses for docked wages," on March 5, under the organization of the HR Department, General Manager Chen Huaihao, after thoroughly digesting the key points explained by Teacher Yang, conducted an immediate follow-up training session for all employees, tailored to the company's actual situation.

At the meeting, General Manager Chen provided an in-depth explanation of four key areas: ① the company’s strategy, including product positioning, market positioning, and medium- to long-term development goals; ② the concept of compensation as well as the dimensions and steps involved in compensation design; ③ the methods, principles, and steps for performance evaluation; and ④ the employee career planning system. General Manager Chen emphasized that all Youtian employees have come together because of their shared aspirations—whether it’s about life, wealth, or personal values—and that the company deeply cherishes each and every one of its employees. Ultimately, the goal of performance management is to achieve a win-win outcome for both the company and the individual employees.
A variety of learning formats—including PPT-based instruction, quiz competitions with prizes, group study and discussion, and a points-based competition—ensure that participants maintain their enthusiasm and focus throughout the six-hour cram-style training session.

After four days of external training and one day of internal refresher sessions, the company—from top to bottom—has gained varying degrees of understanding of performance management. Mid- and senior-level managers have largely mastered the approaches and methods for developing performance management systems, while frontline employees now clearly understand the ultimate purpose of performance management, significantly boosting their acceptance. This has laid a solid foundation for advancing the company’s performance management efforts.
