YouTian conducts internal performance management training.

Performance management is a crucial component of corporate governance, ultimately aimed at boosting profitability. Without a scientifically sound and well‑designed performance management system, companies often face issues such as poor interdepartmental collaboration, low employee motivation, blame‑shifting among staff, inconsistent product quality, and difficulty retaining top talent. The end result is that strategic objectives become hard to achieve, production and operating costs remain uncontrolled, and overall economic performance struggles to improve. At present, Youtian is preparing for a period of rapid growth, making it especially important to promptly establish a performance management system that aligns with the company’s realities and is both practical and actionable. From February 25 to 28, 2022, a six‑person delegation led by the company’s general manager and deputy general managers—comprising representatives from the finance, human resources, and quality departments—attended the “Performance System Implementation Plan Class 10.0,” presented by Yang Zhentian, Chief Mentor in Performance Execution at PinYu Consulting Group. Following four days of intensive training, the company’s middle and senior management gained a fresh understanding of performance management and acquired foundational knowledge of the proper approaches, methods, procedures, and tools required to implement it effectively. Figure 1: Youtian’s Learning Team for the “Performance System Implementation Plan” Building on this foundation, and to deepen all employees’ understanding of performance management while dispelling misconceptions such as “performance management is just an excuse to cut salaries,” General Manager Chen Huaihao, after thoroughly digesting the key concepts taught by Instructor Yang and tailoring them to the company’s specific circumstances, organized an internal refresher session open to all staff on March 5. During the session, General Manager Chen elaborated on four main topics: (1) the company’s strategy, including product positioning, market positioning, and medium- to long-term development goals; (2) compensation concepts, along with the dimensions and steps involved in designing a compensation structure; (3) methods, principles, and procedures for performance appraisal; and (4) the employee career‑planning system. He emphasized that every member of the Youtian team has come together driven by shared aspirations related to life, wealth, or personal fulfillment, and that the company deeply values each individual. Ultimately, the goal of performance management is to create a win‑win situation where both the organization and its employees benefit. A variety of engaging learning formats—including PPT presentations, quiz competitions, group discussions, and point‑based challenges—helped maintain participants’ enthusiasm and focus throughout the six‑hour intensive training session. Figures 2–3: Internal Training on Performance Management Following four days of external training and one day of internal refresher sessions, the company has achieved varying degrees of awareness about performance management across all levels. Middle and senior managers have largely mastered the principles and methodologies for designing effective performance management systems, while frontline employees now clearly understand the ultimate purpose of performance management. This heightened acceptance has laid a solid groundwork for advancing the company’s performance management initiatives.
